Emerson POV The words sliced through the murmurs around me. They weren’t the worst ones. “Don’t look at her,” someone whispered urgently, too close to my ear. “Snake-eyes bring bad luck.” Another voice followed, lower, fearful. “That’s why the Alpha hates her. You don’t stare at things like that and survive.” My stomach twisted. Several pack members turned, their glares sharpening. Some looked away quickly, like my eyes might infect them if they lingered too long. One of them bared his fangs and lunged forward, his steps heavy and deliberate.

Another elder rose slowly from his seat. “With respect, Luna Fiona, many witnessed Serena leaving with Caleb. The images were circulated. The bond between her and Alpha Jayden weakened publicly. We cannot ignore what is before our eyes.” The pack leaders on the screens were murmuring among themselves now. Good. Let the anticipation build. I allowed my gaze to harden slightly. “You believe you know what you saw,” I said slowly. “But appearances can be deceiving.” A wave of skepticism swept through the hall. “Then clarify it,” someone shouted.

He blocked a hybrid’s jaws with his forearm and drove his blade through its skull. She kicked another into a wall and slit its throat before it could retaliate. Their movements were terrifyingly in sync. Another wolf lunged for her blind side. Alaric reached it first. He crushed its windpipe with one hand and snapped its neck with the other. Carla stumbled over her words, her concern evident. Darius broke into almost a run, heading back to the square he had just left minutes ago. "Where did he go?" Curious, the children chased after the Alpha as he reached the square, where he found a frantic Sera and a worried Carla. "Alpha," Sera began, her voice trembling with emotion. "He's in danger. My lynx can't feel his lynx, and he's not responding to the mind link. It's like I'm drawing a blank... he's disappeared…gone, once again," she cried, tears streaming down her cheeks.

I muttered. The unknown male voice spoke again, his words carrying a sense of determination. "Your mate's love will awaken a dormant power within you, Serena. You will Embrace it, for it is the key to defeating Amanda's darkness." "I will find Amanda, my sister," I declared, my voice resonating with unwavering conviction. "But mating with a werewolf? Percy was right behind her. “Seraphina…” he yelled, but Ryker was already attacking him. “Eyes on me when you fight me, Dread Lord!” Ryker roared, aiming for Ronan’s chest, but the blow was blocked.
