He didn't think twice about rejecting that idea, and his eyes flashed with panic. "I disagree! It's all a misunderstanding, Kyna! Nothing is going on between me and Serene, and I only love you!"
He even spread his arms wide and reached for me, as if to prove his words. That was when Serene's weak voice drifted from his car parked nearby.
"Alaric, are you done? My wounds are hurting again."
When I looked over, Serene stepped out with bandages on her forehead and fresh scratches on her cheek.
