I moved like a machine, blind to everything except the fight and the fire. “Alpha!” Jake’s voice cut through the noise. I turned in time to see him stumble, a blade buried in his side. “Jake!” I was at his side before the rogue could finish him, steel flashing, blood spraying. The attacker fell, throat open, but Jake was already sinking to one knee. “Get up,” I ordered. “You’re not dying here.” He coughed, dark blood on his lips. “He’s here, Lucas.” “Who?” His hand tightened on my sleeve. “Drake. I saw him with them—he’s leading them.”

Anita's voice wavered as she delivered this startling revelation. "Alpha Jake, Mara's origins... they are unique, to say the least. She's a hybrid, a mix of Lycan, Werewolves, Witch, Vampire, and even Dragons. It's a combination of supernatural bloodlines that's exceptionally rare and incredibly powerful." Alpha Jake was left utterly stunned by this revelation. He had never encountered or even heard of such a hybrid before. His mind raced with questions, and he struggled to comprehend the implications of Mara's extraordinary heritage.

"And I don't plan on staying here long enough for the silver to drain anything." A soft, tired sigh came from the other side of the stone. "Everyone says that the first night. I used to shout at the walls too. But two months in this darkness changes your perspective. I’m Leo, by the way." Jake went silent, his emerald eyes tracking the shadows dancing on the stone floor. He hesitated, every instinct telling him to keep his identity hidden in this den of vipers. "Jake," he finally muttered, leaving out his family name.

I send sharply through the dragon link. Jakob answers immediately. “Already moving.” He dives toward the ridge, claws extended as he drives two hostile dragons away from Seraphina’s position. Another attacker streaks toward her from the left. I intercept him before he gets close. Our wings collide midair. For a moment we tumble together through the sky in a violent spiral of scales and claws. His teeth snap inches from my throat before I twist free and rake my talons across his chest. He roars in pain and breaks away.

Serra hoped she would be there for their first conversation, maybe even their second. Jake's grandmother introduced herself. The woman was shorter than Destiny, but the way she stood made her seem taller. She carried an air of benevolent power as she stepped towards Destiny and hugged her. Natasha was a powerful wolf and her mate Victor was a legendary warrior who had participated in the blood war 200 years ago. Their daughter Alexandra was Jake's mother. Natasha had always been an extremely blunt person, so the next words out of her mouth did not surprise Jake in the least bit.

Jina and Kate moved to protect me when they saw the wolf. They growled at the beta, and he snarled back before shifting into his human form. “Don’t fight. Their breaths were hot, and their heroic aura could not be underestimated. Ezra flew towards his opponent extremely fast, his sharp claws like blades attacking head-on. The mystic was someone who had also practiced sternly for years, so avoiding him was easy. He quickly switched from a passive position to an active attack.

Lucas chuckled. “This is cruel and unusual punishment, Vivienne. I told you that. Derek hasn’t had blood for the past four hundred years. He can’t be expected to not want to rip these girls’ heads off. Hell, I’ve been feeding for the last four hundred years and I still want to have my way with them.” Derek, still looking like he was about to attack us at any moment, simply gave him a sideward glare before he roamed his eyes toward each of us girls – one by one.

Zelda I could feel the tension building in the air as Drake and Jake's growls grew louder and more aggressive. I really don't know why they were growling. Are they dogs?
