(Kate’s pov) I’m running late getting back from training. I’m currently drying my hair when Trent links me letting me know that Red Moon pack is here. Suddenly Midnight sits up in my mine. M: Go downstairs. K: why what’s wrong? M: I don’t know hurry.

I shook my head, too confused to speak. “Because the last time a lunar eclipse appeared here, something extraordinary happened. A bond formed between two wolves, marked by the moon herself. We call it "Midnight's Mark". It has not appeared in one hundred and twenty-three years. Most think it’s legend, but I saw it when I was young.” My mouth felt dry. “What kind of bond?” “The truest kind, a mate bond chosen by the Moon Goddess herself, marked on the skin at the eclipse’s peak. Those who bear it are destined for each other, their souls matched perfectly. Such bonds appear only when the pack needs them most.”

Jettison POV The air was stale in the shadowed corner of the Midnight Club—one of the most flourishing spots for sin in the whole of Black moore pack. It was an empire I’d built with blood, sweat, and racing engines years ago. Neon lights flickered across the floor where bodies moved and twisted to the music thundering from the loudspeakers. Laughter, shouts, and the stink of alcohol filled the air, everything reeking of sin and danger—but heck, none of it reached me tonight.

But every light inside dimmed sharply for a split second before returning to normal. Several guests glanced upward uneasily. Then the elevator stopped moving. The gaming streamer frowned. “Uh… are we stuck?” Before anyone could answer, the overhead speaker crackled softly. [Midnight check-in begins in ten minutes.] The voice sounded distorted, wrong somehow. A second later, every phone inside the elevator buzzed simultaneously. Winona pulled hers out slowly. A new notification covered the screen. WELCOME TO MIDNIGHT HOTEL. FIRST RULE: DO NOT OPEN YOUR DOOR AFTER 12 A.M. NO MATTER WHO IS KNOCKING.

~Maxine's POV~ The neon haze of downtown Seattle blurred at the edges as I stumbled out of The Midnight Sun bar, the bass from inside still thumping in my chest like a second heartbeat. It was past two a.m., and the street was a ghost town, empty sidewalks slick with rain, the kind that never quite washed away the grime.

"Well, out you go now. It's past 1in the midnight." "1:30." Navaeh corrected as if to let them know she was still there. "It's morning, you dummy." "So when is midnight then, genius?" "Obviously, from the name midnight means middle of the night... By 12AM." "You said am. AM is used for morning." "So?" "So, midnight is the same as morning, fool." "No, you– are not wrong. New York never slept. Not really. At two in the morning, the streets still pulsed with yellow taxis, flashing billboards, and strangers chasing things they couldn’t name. Dreams. Money. Love. I whispered. We stopped at a red light. My gaze caught on a billboard the size of a building. It shimmered, transitioned—and suddenly, the word blazed across the screen in white fire: LUNARIS. A high-end nightclub. The most elite. The kind only the rich, powerful, and probably criminal could enter. Even back downtown, Lunaris was a fantasy, the kind of place people dreamed of making enough money just to glimpse. The ad shifted. And then his face appeared.

A breath of relief escaped my lips as I flicked on the small light. I couldn't sleep and decided to come to the sitting room. I struggled until I reached the TV and put it on, a rush of relief flooded through me. The cool, bright light dispelled the shadows of the dark sitting room, revealing the nearest couch. "Finally!" I whispered, grinning as I picked up the remote and navigated until I got to a station I liked. I sat on the couch watching the TV and the scenes were that of nude men and women.
