Midnight My name is Midnight. I was born exactly at midnight, on December 29, 2002. My last name is Lipovsky, although it should be Vosse, but that's a story for another day. I am 20 years, 4 months and 2 days old. And I'm a bit weird.

The houses were beautiful, identical in elegance. I passed three streets before I finally spotted the sign: Amber Crescent. Without wasting time, I turned in and stepped on the gas. My fingers tightened around the steering wheel. At house 20, I eased off the pedal. I couldn't risk drawing attention—especially if Raven was in danger. It was 7:15 p.m. I pulled up beside House 23, parked, and took a deep breath. My heart pounded against my chest. I quietly stepped out of the car and began walking. Each step closer to House 27 made my stomach churn.

I couldn’t understand him. He cleaned himself in the spring, scrubbing his skin, and I watched him silently, even as he walked out. As he made his way to the horse, water cascaded down his skin, dripping onto the floor until it puddled beside his feet. He dressed, then dug through his pack as he spoke to me. “I will get a fire started. We will spend the night here and hopefully arrive at the Southern Kingdom the day after tomorrow.” I nodded, wrapping my arms tight around myself. The spring water still clung to my skin, despite the shirt and the cloak around me. Cerus moved at a slow pace, his breath leaving his lips as a white cloud.

Adrian Chase wouldn’t allow himself to be weakened by something as trivial as love. After my workout, I got in my car and drove across town. I parked across the road from the towering, clinical-looking building and stared at it with fury coursing through every cell in my body. It was the central DC headquarters for MID, and I had plans to get inside to try and find out more about the homeless people Amelia and Barney Fucking Fife had stumbled upon.

//Heaven Black// I was walking peacefully in the hallway when I saw a familiar figurine walking towards me. Oh no, Am I seeing things? The girl smirk at me. A devilish smirk. "Nope. You are not hallucinating bitch." Midnight said with her thick bitchy accent. I look at her while my mouth is hanging open. Midnight pout before using her long bloody nails to close my open mouth. "No, no, no don't give me that shock look Darling." Who wouldn't be shock to see her here?

** Ryder’s POV ** By the time Callen and I reach the main hall of Midnight Pack to meet with Josh, the sun is already high in the sky as it approaches midday. The building itself is impressive, an old converted war hospital, all stone alcoves and brick, they don’t build them like this anymore. It’s solid and sturdy, standing here for well over a century without crumbling, and Josh, Alpha of Midnight, fits it perfectly.

But Midnight insists that they have to get back, that it would be very bad if the God of Darkness found them gone. “Won’t it…cause a bit of trouble?” Anton asks. “When he sees all of your new stuff?” He looks worriedly around at all of the bags and packages looped on Midnight’s arms and bizarrely tied to her ankles. She explained that the ties will help her transport more, but still – it’s weird. “No,” Midnight says, sighing happily. “He never comes into my house. So this will all just be indoor stuff.” I grimace a little, hoping that continues to be true. But Midnight seems blissfully happy, even if she is surprised when I move forward and wrap her in a hug.
