Feral Attraction
Someone played a violin near the fountain, soft and beautiful.
“This place feels like a different world,” I said.
“It is,” Ava replied. “And it’s my favorite spot. Too bad I’m not artsy; my stick figures cry when they see themselves.”
We burst into laughter.
We walked a little more, passing the Business School, Engineering Wing, and even the small Campus Garden, where students grew herbs and vegetables as part of environmental sciences programs.
Finally, Ava waved at a line of small white taxis parked near the gate.
“Okay, no more walking. I pity you two.”
