The smell of smoke never left her. Annabelle was listening to something with her ear buds, Mason was typing away on his phone, no doubt, as ploy to drown out Ashley's voice. I took one of Annabelle's ear buds and put in my ear. She didn't budge or complain like most people would. The song playing wasn't one I was familiar with but it sounded nice. "What song is this?" I asked her when the song ended. "That's 'fire' by BTS. It's my favorite of all their songs", she replied, still looking at her phone. I had heard of those BTS boys but had never really paid attention to them. Maybe I'd check them out later.
