He tried to speak, but before he could, Gamma guards, alerted by the commotion, dragged him toward the gate.
Then, out of a street corner, a figure lunged. It was Fawn. She had a silver dagger in her hand. Before Glen could react, she drove it into his heart. He looked down in disbelief at the blood spreading over his chest, looked at her, and slowly collapsed.
When Glen breathed his last, Fawn pulled the dagger free and, without hesitation, plunged it into her own heart. Blood splattered all about as she fell into Glen’s arms, a satisfied smile on her lips.
