It had been the longest day at work, to finish off the longest week. I was so glad it was the last Friday of the month, this meant only one thing, my online book club was getting together to gossip about their latest read, all of us would have a glass of wine or two as we swapped ideas on our most recent book. I had a feeling tonight would be a good session as they had picked an erotic novel this time.

Dear Diary, My first day at college did not go as expected to say the least. My roommate is a little odd, I mean she literally has barely said two words to me. Her name is Annabelle and I think she's like a pre-law major or some shit. Classes haven't even started and I haven't seen her take her eyes off the thick ass textbooks she already bought. Is this some type of code book or something? I took notice on how this anonymous person always wrote in the middle of each page, used very few words, never wrote back to back on a page, and the most mysterious of them all always wrote on the 9th of February. I flipped through the next page but found nothing in other words it is BLANK! The diary might have been full of riddles, but that doesn’t mean I never enjoyed the mystery behind it all. Hoping to find something to fill my curiosity, I continue flipping through the pages, but to no avail.

Opening the lid their were couple of journals not just one and each book had its own name, the first book I held was named ' new me ' I couldn't help but chuckle at the things my twelve year old self has written inside and the weird designs made it look contrasting. ' My love life ' was written in an Italian font with heart stickers and love quotes in either sides, I didn't realised I stopped breathing exhaling all the air I've had it in me I opened it. Tears gathered in my eyes but I didn't bother wiping them away. The seventeen year old me was madly in love.

“That’s rare around here. Everyone else just writes checks.” Adrian laughed. “Yeah, I noticed.” They stepped away from the crowd slightly, finding a quiet pocket near a window that looked over the garden. Eli leaned casually against the wall, swirling his wine. “So, what do you write?” “Articles mostly,” Adrian said, tucking his hands into his pockets. “Some short stories. Nothing glamorous.
