Of course, all of the villains in stories use feelings and emotions as their greatest weapon against the protagonist, and when that happens, protagonists don't have a choice but to be controlled by the hands of the villain. The same goes in real life, when the bad person uses your feelings as a weapon against you, you don't have a choice but to bend down and give in.

A monster is born bad. They don’t need a reason to destroy, only the urge to do so. They don’t have a conscious or guilt when they do horrible things.” His words send a cold chill down the back of my neck. “And you think you’re someone with no conscious and have no urge to be anything other than what you were born to be? Because saving my life doesn’t sound like what you define a monster to be.” I point out.
