I braced myself, gathering every ounce of strength I had left.
"Seraphina," the antagonist’s voice rang out, cold and clear, cutting through the noise. "You can’t win this. Surrender now, and I’ll spare your friends. Resist, and they’ll all die."
My heart pounded in my chest, the weight of the decision pressing down on me like a vice.
