I gasped for air, my mouth hanging open like a fish out of water. Panic welled up inside me, threatening to burst out, and finally, I screamed, “No! Don’t touch me!” Carter was startled by my sudden scream and let go of me. I scrambled back to the corner, clutching my torn clothes and pleading desperately. “Please, I swear I won’t bother Carter anymore. Just let me go…” He slowly advanced toward me, his lips moving as if he were speaking, but I couldn’t hear anything.

Blaze's POV I'm startled out of a deep sleep by the shrill ringing of my phone. I groan and squint against the unexpected intrusion of sound as my head pounds. Who the hell is calling me now? I grope around blindly, trying to locate the source of the noise. My fingers finally close around my phone, and I somehow manage to swipe it open. Felix’s voice roars through the speaker, instantly cutting through the fog in my brain. “You idiot, where the hell are you? The race is starting in 30 damn minutes!” he yells, his voice full of irritation.

Maybe he had never been treated like that before, but slowly, the calls stopped. The messages also went silent. At last, I could start adjusting to a new life. At first, it felt strange being in an unfamiliar place and a brand-new job all by myself. However, little by little, I realized I could actually find joy in it. Life began to feel meaningful and purposeful again. The part of me that had been suppressed for years was finally breaking free. Sometimes, though, my thoughts would drift back to the past, to those unforgettable moments that had carved themselves into my heart.

He ordered his men to tie me by the tree. "You will never find him" I yelled as I fought them but they were too strong for me. Nacho shot me on the leg and seconds later I was bleeding. I cried out in pain while he laughed like a psychotic maniac. Then a tin fell next to him and soon smoke filled the air. "He's here" I heard Pablo shout.

“Breathe with me.” I tried. Gods, I tried. My breath stuttered, uneven, as another wave surged through me. The cottage floor splintered under a blast that shot out uncontrollably. My cry echoed through the night. Ryan dragged me outside the house to minimise the damage I caused not knowing that more damage could be done outside than inside.
