“It’s nice to meet you, April.” April gives Sophia an odd look before she extends her hand and shakes it. “Hey.” Chelsea takes Tate’s hand and stops before April. “Hello, April. A while back, we talked to Micah, and he told us that about this courageous girl who might need a home. What do you think? Putting on my black high heels I give myself a last check before heading downstairs as I hear the first cars arriving. Arriving quietly behind my parents as they welcome the first couple – Alpha Zachary and Luna Rachel from the Blood Moon Pack, I step beside my father in time to shake Alpha Zachary’s and Luna Rachel’s hands. My mother and father give me a stern look, acknowledging my close to late arrival. With her blond hair, brown eyes, and petite frame she is clearly the light in Alpha Zackary’s eyes.

He added as he looked at her trembling hand. "I saw Margaux's past, how she killed those people and burnt their bodies." April deliberately replied as she tried not to recall what she had seen in the pot. She glanced round the room and her eyes caught the black cloak on the floor. She moved to where the cloak was and picked it up. "This looked like the cloak she wore when she killed those people." She said and for some reasons, April felt the cloak she was holding also looked so similar to the one she was wearing. Margaux's cloak has an imprint on it, she looked at her cloak and found the same imprint at the left side of the cloak. "This...."

“Poor you, I have been there done that. When they ask, take the drugs.” Everyone laughed. April cleared her throat, fingers twisting together. “Okay. So... you guys know me as May Jones.” She hesitated, then forced herself to say it. “But that’s not my real name.” Silence. Trent was the first to react, blinking. “I’m sorry, what?” April exhaled. “My real name is April Harrington.” Poppy let out a strangled sound. “Are you kidding me?” Sophie’s brows pulled together. “As in Harrington Enterprises?”

Wouldn’t an email have suited better? Taking a chance, I glance at her screen, eager to suck in as much of this vibe as I can before I have to return to Lila’s soulless office.
