The chill she felt had nothing to do with the rain. The very moment her eyes met with a single lightening and her ears rang with the growl of thunder in the sky, she knew it was too late. The first wail came from an injured wolf on the ground. Its paw reached painfully for its head as it plodded and howled in the dirt. Its pain seemed to destroy every inch of its body from the inside. Gradually the rest of the wolves began to howl and claw at their brain.

She told a lot of things about wolves and it gave Melissa insight into herself. "Things have changed, little One," Lena said, "Right now, I just want to kill you," she smiled and came forward. It was at that moment Melissa realised what was happening. Before Lena had begun the attack, she'd said something, "Wolves do not respond to fear." She understood now. She stood down, looked up and yelled. "Stop!!" She said and stared directly into the eyes of the wolf. "I am not afraid of you Lena, so stop," she commanded.

“Because fear makes us reckless. Eryndor wants us to tear ourselves apart before his hounds arrive. I won’t give him the satisfaction.” Mireya’s jaw worked, but no words came. For once, silence lay heavy between them. In the distance, thunder rolled—not from storm, but from something deeper. Serenya’s breath caught, and she saw Mireya’s head snap toward the horizon at the same time. It wasn’t thunder. It was drums. Slow. Heavy. Marching closer. The sound sent a tremor through the wall beneath their feet. Wolves lifted their heads from every corner of the courtyard, ears straining, eyes wide. Guards gripped spears tighter, knuckles white.

“That’s Sky.” Sky tilts her head. Takes us in. Me. Draven. Cove. Ash. Creek. Two hundred sixty wolves. She smiles. The air pressure drops. “Scatter!” Wrath roars. Lightning comes down. Not one bolt. Five. Ten. A goddamn storm in a girl. It hits the Hollow line. Wolves don’t scream. They convulse. Fur ignites, then goes out, because Sky doesn’t burn. She breaks. Nervous systems, bones, the space between heartbeats.

Nothing more. I squeezed myself inside the little hole as I held my heart and shut my eyes tightly in fear. My breath came in short gasps. Cold air went into my lungs. A few seconds after, I tried to keep my breath steady when I suddenly could hear the howling sounds of wolves from different directions. It was so deafening, and I could tell I was going to be invaded by them soon. I shut my ears and I tried my best not to scream from the fear that gripped me at the thought of “wolves are real.” Struck me so hard.

The aura so deadly that a person could hear the cries of innocents in it. This was the aura of thunder wolf who has now emerged with only one motive and that was vengenance.

I say sniffing a little, I won’t deny that a few tears weren’t shed from the overpowering fear that took over my senses. The wolf pushes his head up where he begins to lick the tears away, a little laugh escaping my lips as my whole face was soon covered in slobber. The fear that I was feeling had vanished, a feeling of calm was ever present in my mind as I sat on the floor. The sound of thunder clapping snaps me from my thoughts, I did hear the village people talking of a terrible storm that is supposed to be passing through over these next few days. “Maybe we should head home now?” I ask with a little smile, but I knew I wouldn’t get a response from this guy.

We don’t know how long the trail will be. I’m glad I’d warned them of the next thing Thunder and Frost have to do. We’re entering Claimed Territory. We’ve got to announce our presence. Heads thrown back, the two wolves howl. Thunder’s voice suits his name, a low and rolling rumble. Frost’s howl is long and eerie, the notes a deliberate disharmony so that two wolves sound like many. The horses snort and dance a bit, but don’t bolt. I’d watch the humans, but Frost isn’t interested in any of them except our Mate, who is listening with her head tilted a bit to one side, delighted.

Just as I closed my eyes, another thunderclap echoed from outside. I immediately opened my eyes and my heart was pounding inexplicably. I had the same feeling before the previous few incidents. I touched my chest and couldn't stop wondering what was happening. The room was pitch black, with occasional flashes of lightning outside. The bright light would last for a second or two before disappearing. I turned on the lamp on the bedside table. Looking at my arm, I could see that all the hairs on it stood up. The sixth sense of werewolves often made their hair stand on end before danger approached.

However, that beauty was accompanied by a long howl like a wolf's howl. Lisa, who had never heard a wolf howl in her life, immediately stood up and walked away from her bedroom window. She shuddered in fear and couldn't believe everything she heard. She thought maybe wolves were wandering around her grandmother's house, without her knowing that the howls were the howls of werewolves on a full moon night.
