[Faye] I know it might sound strange, I still am and have always been a little afraid of the dark. Actually no, that’s not quite accurate. Terrified would be the appropriate word. Terrified of the dark. I know all little kids fear the dark a little bit at some point, but the terror I feel go beyond the regular childhood fears of monsters under the bed or in the closet. I don’t fear being in the dark. I have an honest fear of the darkness itself. When I stare out into a complete deep shadow, it doesn’t feel empty, it feels overwhelmingly full.

Dark was scared of something, I just had to find out what.

The Dovewood mansion quickly vanished behind the tall gates. The drive was silent, except for the quiet hum of the engine. Every mile that passed took me further from any sense of control, further into Caden's dangerous game. My hands were clasped in my lap, trembling. I kept my eyes fixed on the scenery outside, trying not to look at him. But I could feel his presence, powerful and unsettling, next to me. He finally broke the silence. I quickly grabbed the candles and started lighting them two at a time. “Looks like someone’s trying to set the mood.” Ace said his teeth were chattering but I could see a smile trying to creep out. I rolled my eyes. Is he ever serious? ‘I’m just not a fan of the dark.” I strategically placed the candles to light up every corner of the room. “No fucking way.” He started laughing, causing the room to echo eerily. “Allegra Grey, Queen of the shadows, is afraid of the dark.” He said as he bent over and clutched his stomach.

I eyed the man, a question ringing in my head, 'Are you not scared of death, motherfucker? “Do you like being in a world you don’t belong to and stealing somebody’s supposed space?” he asked, and I knew where this was leading. “If it refers to me being in Callum's world, yes… but whose space am I stealing?” This game is easy; the more I provoke this crazy man here, the faster my escape would be because I am scared of what is happening with me. Every passing second, I find myself falling deeper into Callum's dark world, the ice around my heart making light cracks, which fears me more than what I feared most in the past.

Looking at the box and taking it into her hands, JK’s voice whispers, like he is asking her once more. “Do you want to play a game?” With the spell that is embedded within her and all through and through. Her eyes change with their hue, as it turns into a deep red and somewhat making her froze into place, as JK’s hunting once more echoes. “A game of hiding and seek.” Drawn as she is put into it by the spell that he cast. Everything around her turns into ominous darkness, as the familiar lullaby is being played. “Who is asleep amidst the dark? The nightmare is knocking at the door.”
