Patterns. Because that’s where mistakes showed. A man shifted in his seat. Normal. Someone coughed. Normal. The bus slowed slightly at a stop. Normal. Then. I saw it. Or rather. I didn’t. One seat. Near the middle. Empty. Completely empty. But the space around it. Felt wrong. Too still. Too quiet. Like something occupied it. Without being seen. My chest tightened. “There,” I whispered. “Where?” she asked. “Middle row. Empty seat.”

Waiting for a Heart Long Dead

Waiting for a Heart Long Dead

He didn't want to let her go. Seven years had passed since the fire, but he could never get over the barrier in his heart. When Nathan reached the last page of the prayer journal, he couldn't hold back the tears anymore. Willow had written, "If I can take the guilt from his heart, I'm willing to give up even myself." … The moment the plane landed, I saw the look on Luke's face. He was deathly pale. The entire Patton family stood neatly in line at the gate to welcome me. It seemed like they had accepted that I, the Bells' goddaughter, would take Sabrina's place in the marriage.

MY BODY OR MY HEART

MY BODY OR MY HEART

screamed Hilary. “It’s not my fault I have a bad heart, Hilary, and I'm so sorry for ruining your holiday. I didn’t mean to do so.” “Of course, you can’t help being sick. You're a defective product. Your biological mother must have taken one look at your face and seen how much trouble you would bring!” sneered Hilary. Amber sobbed quietly, each statement from Hilary cut her deeply and she could no longer bear it. She grabbed what was left of the groceries and fled into the night as Hilary’s loud cackles follow her. She pauses for breath and inhales sharply as she realizes she was in unfamiliar territory. Looking around in fear, she tries to make sense of where she was. All she saw was unfami

DEIMOS: The Alpha's Unchosen Mate

DEIMOS: The Alpha's Unchosen Mate

To break a little each day, to fix the cracks myself only to break again. I shift my body to my side, head resting on my open palm as I look at the spot Deimos and I sat at. It only seems like yesterday when I felt that warmth of happiness bursting at the depths of my soul. Now it feels void, I shiver from how cold I feel within. I raise my palm onto the sky and gaze at its beauty through the space between my fingers. "How will I live without you?" "Will my heart beat again if you leave?" "Must I follow you too? Will you take me with you?"

I have to say I love love this book. It has become one my go to favorites. Luna Liz has such a way of writing that makes you feel all the emotions her characters are feeling throughout her story. Definitely recommend this book.

I loved this book, but most of all I like how you give us an in-depth illustration of what Deimos and Lumina are going through. And we get follow and livre through their journey where they make mistakes, but also learn and evolve.

Footprints in My Heart

Footprints in My Heart

It echoes in my head. I hug myself tighter and force the tears away. Leaning back into the seat, I look around the isle; Mum, daddy, and my little brother are sitting two rows behind me on the right side, while I’m on the left. The seat next to me is empty and the seat next to that is occupied by a man who I presume must be in his midfourties. I have the seat next to the window, and I couldn't be more thankful; it gives me a perfect view of the sky, nothing but a peaceful exapnse of blue that slowly begins to lull me to sleep...

Resisting The Playboy's Charm

Resisting The Playboy's Charm

I don't think I have the words to voice all of them. "Since you left, my life has felt empty and hollow," Evans continues, lowering himself to his knees to be on the same level as me. "I understand why you didn't want to come back, but I swear, I'll do whatever it takes to show you that I can make room in my life and my heart for you." The tree above us stirs in the breeze, and a few leaves, the earliest signs of fall, drift down from its branches. "Because the truth is," Evans says softly, "I don't have to make room. That room exists for you, and it always will, whether you're there to fill it or not."

Homecoming to an Empty Heart

Homecoming to an Empty Heart

The station was in the same direction as the hiking spot where the hospital was conducting its recreational activity. Julia was riding in a black sedan with a special license plate that ensured the journey was a smooth one for her. The sedan eventually overtook the hospital's shuttle bus. Elijah, who was sitting inside that bus, suddenly felt a sharp pain in his heart, which was pounding erratically. He pressed his hand against his chest. It felt as though something was quietly slipping away from his grasp. He noticed a black sedan speeding past the bus at that moment.

When the Heart Dies

When the Heart Dies

"This is dead. It won't beat for you again. "We're finished. Your cousin was right. Chase is the one who matches your status. Let's just call it a bad dream. "The dream is over. I've paid my price. I accept it. "I wish you happiness." With that, I left the office. The moment I closed the door, I heard muffled sobbing from inside, restrained yet desperate. I felt nothing. I could not comfort her gently the way I once had when I saved her. I had underestimated how persistent Scarlett could be. To escape her, I requested a transfer out of the city with no set return date.

Heartprints in the Void

Heartprints in the Void

I whisper, my voice thick with tears. “I know.” His words are soft, tinged regret and pain. Heavy silence stretches between us, but for the first time, I don’t mind it. I listen to the steady thrum of his heartbeat beneath my ear, letting it ground me, anchor me in the present. The music changes, James Arthur’s Last of the Whiskey filling the room. The slow, sultry beat wraps around us, and I find myself wishing I could sway to the melody, to lose myself in the haze of smoke.
