She spotted a young pack member, barely out of his teenage years, being overpowered by two Rogues. Without a second thought, she grabbed a crossbow from a fallen warrior and aimed. She fired, the arrow striking one of the Rogues in the side. It let out a guttural scream and turned on her, but she was ready. She reloaded and fired again, this time hitting the Rogue squarely in the chest. It fell, writhing in pain, and she rushed forward, pulling the young pack member to his feet.

I offered to help him carry them, but he shook his head, and smiled at me. We waited for the last of the warrior wolves to pull in behind us. I recognised some of them from training, but I went round and introduced myself to each of them in turn. “Young Luna,” they bowed, and I smiled around at them all. “My name is Arienne,” I said, extending my hand to each of them. “I am Elsu, the lead warrior wolf of the Lapis Moon pack,” one of them said, stepping forwards. “It is a pleasure to be formally introduced to you, at long last.
