I hide my amused grin, focusing on the confrontation that I have a feeling will lead to me getting exactly what I want, Clem trading off places with Tatum. “Then why?” Artemis looks pained, and she gives him a sad look. “The alpha of my pack wanted me to mate with him. From the time I was fifteen, and he was twenty-two, he told me I was his. Every day he would remind me how I would be his mate, no matter what. So when I turned eighteen, I ran away.”

Please!” I shook my head as I dragged my teeth over my lip. Why did my mother do that? Why did his father go after my father? And why did the moon goddess choose us as mates?
