After freeing Archer, Chris headed towards the gate and banged on the lock, breaking it instantly. Many guards entered the dungeon and tried to stop Chris, but he tackled them one by one while Archer made a show of fighting with the guards. At one point, Chris was surrounded by multiple rogues and was finding it difficult to ward them off. Archer was waiting for the right opportunity to be the 'Hero' in front of Chris. He signaled at one of the rogues, who moved forward to attack Chris with a silver dagger, and Archer shielded him.

“You honestly don’t believe I’d let you leave without me, did you?” Elaine met his words with silence, because she had. Finally, she spoke up, “I’m not having you die for me, or for the book. I will take it and figure out what to do from there. You can become a Knight of Artharia, the guard, just like you dreamed.” Elaine lifted the satchel up and over her shoulder, securing it and avoiding his gaze. “I’m not going to join the people trying to kill my best friend.” “I’m not your best friend.”

But to my surprise, Ezra doesn’t pull away just yet. Instead, he reaches forward and taps a button on the dashboard. A screen descends from the ceiling of the car, flickering to life with a live news broadcast. The presidential seal is visible on a podium, and a crowd of reporters waits expectantly, cameras flashing. Suddenly, Arthur walks into frame. The room falls silent as he adjusts the microphone and looks directly into the camera. And then, without preamble, Arthur leans into the microphone and says, “My mate is a human. We have a son together, and I’m tired of keeping them hidden away in the dark.”

He then walked over to it and tried to touch it but to his surprise, his hand went through the body. “Why can’t I touch him?” he growled as he slowly started shifting. “Because I’m not dead,” Arthur answered as he came out of the bathroom and he was holding an unconscious Amelia in his arms. Adrian immediately jumped back when Arthur, who was on the bed and Amelia , who was lying unconscious on the floor, disappeared.
