Ascendance Of A Bookworm Novels & Stories

Anyway, I’m pretty many are not familiar with the concept I’m using in this story. First of all, The Ascension, previously titled ‘The Fate Changer’s Ascension’ and ‘Dear Mr. Fate Changer’ is my first book ever. I wrote it December of 2018. I was never trained in writing or have any whatsoever background on how to write a story. Lol, my major in college is Mathematics.

The moment Violet’s words sank in, I pushed away from the desk and strode out of the office, ignoring both Octavia’s and Violet’s questions that followed me into the hall. The library was quiet as I entered and headed to where the Phoenix journals were kept. Our very first Alpha was called to rise and fight against demons. I had scoured his journals regarding it when Violet had first informed us about King Lezdeus’ involvement in what was to come. I used my thumbprint to unlock the cabinet where they were kept, pulling out the one that I needed. The leather cover was worn with an image of the wolf on it. I carefully flipped through the delicate pages until I found what I was looking for.

The creature reveled in these tormented memories, feeding upon them—growing stronger with each recollection. Sinking to her knees, Autumn felt the Book of her ancestors flare against her chest, pulsating with primal energy. The coin—Luma’s coin—seared into her palm, merging painfully with her skin. A glowing sigil materialized around her, encircled by radiant white fire that flickered with ethereal vitality. Then, she rose, not by intention, but by the inexorable pull of instinct. The Book opened in midair, its pages turning as if caught in a mystical storm. From her lips emerged a voice that was not her own:

“Does it bite?” Steve snorted. “Probably.” They reached a circular antechamber at the end of the hall where a massive tome—several feet tall and wider than a table—sat on a pedestal of smoldering glass. The book was open, its pages turning themselves. Emma stepped forward and placed her hand on the edge of the platform. Immediately, flames curled around her wrist—not burning, but connecting. The simple black-skinned book was a scholar's chronicle of his search for lost knowledge at the time of the coming of the Dark Gods, and while it was an interesting read, it didn't really teach Viktor anything very useful. The book titled only Anatomy, on the other hand, fascinated him and he had to acknowledge that the concepts and detailed information it contained were easy for him to assimilate and integrate into his own knowledge. In fact, he seemed to have a strange affinity for the ideas presented in the book. He attributed this to the long relationship he had had with death by growing up as the son of a priest of the death god.

Her curiosity was certainly piqued—she was desperate to learn everything about her genus. She couldn’t get past the first ten pages, though. It was a dense history of the first mages, the ancient political blah-blah-blah, and before long, her eyelids were fighting a losing battle.
