“It won’t be until after your birthday. You’ll need to ascend first.” I nod in response. So that gives me an idea on how long I have to enjoy my life in The Mortal Realm. I should have realized I would need to ascend first. Ascending is a term used for natural born witches and warlocks. Basically, when they turn eighteen they ascend and their power doubles, sometimes they even gain abilities like teleporting. “Do you have wings?” Excuse my curiosity. There is lore about him having and not having wings. Since he is technically my other half, I feel I have the right to know some of the more personal stuff.

His cold demeanor seemed to warn others to keep their distance, but his breathtaking handsomeness begged them to come closer. As he stepped out of the jet, the last rays of sunlight danced across his face, casting an ethereal glow. For a moment, he seemed like an angel descending from heaven, his beauty leaving onlookers awestruck and breathless. The air around him vibrated with an aura of power, wealth, and mystery. His gaze swept across the surroundings, his eyes lingering on nothing and no one. He moved with purpose, his strides confident and calculated, leaving a trail of wonder in his wake.

"Yeah, why..." Before I could react or finish my sentence, Lycidas began to ascend the tree with practiced ease, his movements fluid and graceful as he expertly navigated the tangled branches. I watched in awe as he ascended higher and higher, until he reached the top and perched himself on a sturdy branch junction way high up, his figure silhouetted against the sky. From my vantage point below, I could hear his voice drifting down from above, urging me to join him in the canopy. "Come on, Mia! The view up here is incredible!" he called, his words echoing through the forest.

I was just curious, that’s all” I stammered as Caleb and her laughed. “Relax, he’s probably just done for the night” admits Angel who never really paid attention to the door handler as she smiles. “If you say so,” is all I say as we move to approach the elevator before beginning our long descent up. Why does Angel live on the 10th floor? Groaning all we can do is wait.

CHAPTER 145 The Hall of Ascendancy shimmered like a mirage in the sky. Built from celestial stone, veined with stardust and prayer, it rose high above the world—untouched by time, war, or decay. Towers gleamed with radiant light. Massive doors carved with the names of every god long fallen opened as Elias approached. And beyond them—thousands. Celestials. Ancients. Highborns. Seraphim. Shadows reborn in light. All of them kneeling as one, heads bowed, wings folded in reverence.

The tomb groaned beneath the weight of the ancient magic, the air charged with the tension of the deity’s presence. Time itself seemed to freeze, though everything around us crumbled. The walls shuddered, stones fell like dead weight, and the ground trembled beneath my feet, but none of it mattered. At this moment, there was only the voice of the deity, echoing through my mind, pulling at the edges of my very soul. "You cannot outrun fate, Seraphina." The deity’s voice slithered through my thoughts, its tone a sinister whisper that made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. "This world will fall, or you will rise."

The moment we step in, I meet the cold gazes of brute men, drinking and shouting over loud cheers. The ceiling above us is high. The space is wide and empty, with cheap chairs and tables scattered around. It looks like a large, ancient cathedral, without an altar. Just tables and chairs. At the counter, my eyes meet Stefan, the giant. The very man who beat me to a pulp. “He the man?” Mark asks. “Yeah, he’s the one,” I reply, hatred brewing in my eyes. Then a voice comes from behind us, loud and hoarse, like that of a serpent.

The elevator descended enveloped in complete silence. Iris stood beside Cassian, her arms folded tightly across her chest. She stared down at her bare feet occasionally, trying to shake the uneasy feeling. The only sound that echoed was the soft hum of the elevator and the occasional ding as they passed each floor. She lifted her eyes from her feet and stole a glance at him. He stood with both hands tucked inside his trouser pockets, his posture relaxed. She almost eyed him with contempt. It annoyed her that he got to be so calm and relaxed.

” Noticing that I haven’t even made an attempt to speak or even move -since I was practically unable to even breathe anymore- she only continued, “Ookaaay, first things first,” “In case you were wondering, the reason why Azrael isn’t a fallen is that he’s...Well let’s just say he’s not your “regular” Archangel like the others, since he’s one of The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and all that shit... And since his grace is practically bound to my soul...Uh...let’s just say that as long as I’m alive, he’s...He will still be his...usual self...” Even though that last sentence left me feeling somewhat confused -mostly by the way she so evasively explained it- I however chose to mainly focus on

At Heaven Far above, Zadkiel, accompanied by Wrath and his lover Jophiel, arrived amidst the devastation of Heaven itself. The once-pristine spires and radiant gardens were scorched, broken, and trembling under the assault of fallen angels.
