JAKE’S POV The incident at last full Blood Moon haunted me everyday. The memory persisted in my mind like a festering wound that would not go away, regardless of how much time had passed. I remembered the heat of it, the way my blood boiled as my wolf, Lucio, struggled for control. The Blood Moon's tug was more powerful than anything I had ever experienced. My entire body shook, my muscles tensing up and my claws sticking out against my will. I had tried to resist it. But it was more powerful.

Karyna’s POV The moon’s usual silver glow was shifting to a reddish color as if it were streaked with blood. My reaction drew laughter from the mean girl and her friends, but I couldn’t care less. It was my first time seeing a blood moon. “This is unsettling and breathtaking,” I could barely contain my amazement. It was like a beautiful nightmare unfolding in the dark sky. When the moon fully transitioned into a Blood Moon, a sharp pain shot through me and my hand flew to Henri’s neck. The pain was intense. It was as if my body was trying to reject his mark once again. What the hell was happening?

“That… wasn’t part of any plan.” Grey reached for his weapon. “Mira…” But she was already running toward the sound. Through the trees. Over roots. Down the slope. The faint scent of Moon Blood was highly tempting to it. "Go away!" Revira yelled. The Grave Hound leader roared, then leaped to attack.

Kael whispered, voice shaking as he stared at his mother, alive and well. “It’s a memory,” Liora corrected him, her throat tight. “It's a memory. This is what it stole.” As they watched, the sky darkened. It started at the edges, a purple stain spreading. The birds stopped singing and people looked up, confused. Then the sun faded like a dying fire, and the Blood Moon rose. It was huge, red, and hungry, like a giant eye watching. The memory changed. The warmth slipped away, a cold taking over. Smiles faded to worry, then fear. A low hum filled the air, the sound of the Moon’s hunger growing.
