Sunshine screams as the mixture flying through the air strikes her down. I step inside the protection ring. I reach out to make an opening and pull her onto our side to protect her, but before I can pull Sunshine into my magic protection, one of the minions grabs Sunshine. He hits Sunshine one time with the salty-smelling potion, and it penetrates her body.

She did not want to waste her chance roasting the man who cheated on her best friend. "You mean you're that Ash-" "Yes... He's that Ashton Grey. The one that owned that big fashion company. AG Atelier, remember? The company used to hold a lot of design contests for art students before. Ashley and I used to participate in those contests before and we often told you that, you know... What a turn of events, Ashley ended up marrying the owner of that company," Hana kept roasting the guy harshly.

Opening her eyes, she realised she was sitting on the low hedges in front of Olive's house. "What the hell just happened?" She said as she freed herself from the hedges and walked towards Ethan and Ayesha. "That was me." Ayesha replied, the characteristic chewing gum in her mouth "I can move objects with my mind. Special kind of dark magic" Ethan snorted "It's the way she says 'dark magic'" "Shut up." Ayesha said and punched his arm.

"Avril, have some water and calm down. I know you're holding a grudge against me now, but you shouldn't be so rash next time." I didn't accept the cup of water. However, Peggy got burned by the hot water in the cup and ended up splashing the water onto my arm. "Oh! It burns…" The hot water scalded Peggy's finger. Vernon hurriedly led her to the tap and placed her finger under the running water. As for me, I was dressed lightly. The hot water had soaked through my chiffon top, scalding my arm instantly. I went to the restroom to handle the burn on my own. Very quickly, red blisters began forming on my left wrist.

She stomped ahead, pine needles snapping underfoot, needing distance, needing air that wasn’t him—leather, sweat, that sharp edge that clung to her. He followed, silent again, but she felt him—his eyes on her back, heavy, like a weight she couldn’t shake. The woods stretched on, dark and endless, and her fingers brushed the vial again—Dorian’s curse, her leash—and she wondered who the hell they’d smashed on that truck, who’d paid for her not running to the cliff road.

Just then, a small head peeked through the suffocating smoke. “Madam, do you need any help?” someone asked timidly. I forced my eyes open and saw a young boy who was about the same age as my son. He was covered in ash and dirt, but his eyes shone brightly through the smoke. He was so small in size, yet he managed to muster the strength to help me up. Then, together, we slowly made our way outside. The path to the outside was incredibly challenging, and I felt like giving up several times.

But all I could focus on was her. Her face. Her heartbeat. Her scent, fading too quickly. Ash eventually dragged himself to the foot of the bed. “You need to listen,” he said. I ignored him. “Arthur.” “I said—” “This is killing her.” I shot up, eyes blazing golden-red. “What did you say?” “Her magic isn’t meant to exist in that realm,” Ash said, wiping blood from his mouth. “It’s tearing her apart. If she stays there, even for a few hours…”

“Let’s do it.” Hamish motioned him forward. Ashen stepped into the center of the runes. I stood behind him, close enough for our chests to almost touch, hands hovering near his waist. The bond pulsed hard—wanting, urging, anchoring. Hamish raised his staff. “Ashen,” he said softly, “this will only reveal what already lives inside you. Nothing more.” Ashen inhaled. Hamish tapped the floor. A faint golden shimmer rose from the runes. And Ashen gasped.

While they were still looking at the disappearance of the beautiful woman, she appeared again. Looking frustrated. “Oh, you couldn’t do your disappearing act or you missed us and came back?” asked Zande, Asmodeus gave him a glare. “She can’t use her powers now; the mark of Solomon and mountain ash prevents her from using her powers.” JP answered.
