I looked up dazed at Alpha Asher, my stomach clenching when a vivid image of him and Chelsea flashed through my mind. "Starting trouble already, Lola?" Alpha Asher's dark eyebrow raised enticingly. Alpha Asher's voice was clear through the music, his words were much too easy to focus on. I couldn't tell which I liked more. Alpha Asher in workout clothes, or Alpha Asher dressed for business. He wore black slacks that hugged exactly where they needed to. A black button down shirt hugged his chiseled chest, and the sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. My eyes flickered down at his muscular forearms, tracing the heavy veins that ran down.

Ash’s POV The roar of the clubhouse hit me before I even turned off my engine. Laughter, shouts and the sound of bottles clinking rent the air and for a moment, I wonder how they could easily fall back into their normal lives less than twelve hours after an attack. It was chaos the way I remembered it, but somehow louder and more… non challant. Inside, the air was thick with smoke and sweat. A few brothers cheered when they saw me, others nodded, their eyes sharp, reading me like they weren’t sure what version of Ash had come back.

The grass is like stain, as I join him, letting it crept up my bare legs. "All your feelings here, as a mortal, are heightened. Everything will feel softer, harder, taste nicer, and repulsive. Right now Aspen has a few dampers on your emotions, to help with how you cope. At least that's what I assume he's up to. Remember, they never consulted me with any of this," Asher grumbles, looking out over the cliff. "My heart bleeds for you," I mutter sarcastically. Asher shakes his head at me, his eyes blazing. “You weren’t authorized.” The man grins. “I never am.” I recognize him before he speaks again. Not by face—by weight. By the way the city pulls away from him like it doesn’t want to be noticed. “Name’s Ash,” he says. “Protagonist, depending who you ask.” Jonas’s voice goes flat. “You’re supposed to be off-grid.” “Yeah,” Ash replies. “So are ghosts.” He looks at me then. Really looks. No reverence. No calculation. Just recognition.

Meanwhile, surrounding women watched with interest: one man possessing a commanding aura, dressed in a simple white shirt and jeans, and the other equally charming in jeans and a jacket.

The scolding and the sharp slap of words came together. “You…” Liz stared in surprise at Asher, who pushed through the crowd, holding a paper cup of coffee and carrying a backpack. “Were they the ones barking all this time?” Asher casually pointed at Lana and Laura. Liz’s two “friends” were shocked and stared at Asher. His appearance was unexpected, as was his handsome face. Asher tied his slightly long hair back, pulling away the strands that usually covered part of his face, revealing his features perfectly—and they were perfect. His appearance was casual, wearing a denim jacket and a white T-shirt, but still flawless, supported entirely by his rugged, masculine Italian looks.

They both did not wait and drove away before their parents could find out anything. On the other hand, back in the dorm room Alpha Asher stood up and yelled. “Fuck you all! I will see all of you fuckers! Just wait and watch!” He leaped towards one and pushed the guy out of his room. Alpha Asher slammed the door of his dorm and then punched over it to unleash his anger.
