This assassin gives me so much headache. "Just relax, Craig. Don't blame yourself, okay? Carlo is right. I didn't know that it was the assassin who just bumped into me. What makes me angry is that I look stupid because of what happened. I made sure I scattered his body, bones away from flesh, so that he won’t be able to exist in the next life nor reincarnate.

It was fast, darting through the confusion like a ghost. Instinct kicked in. I launched myself forward, dragging Nora behind me. The blade bit into flesh-not hers. Pain exploded through my chest. I heard her scream, her voice ripping through the night as I fell to my knees. Warm blood spread under my hand, soaking my skin. The scent of silver and iron filled my lungs. “Nora—” I choked, my vision blurring. The hood fell away from the assassin's face, showing one of the younger warriors, eyes empty, his veins blackened with poison. Controlled. Marked. Someone had sent him.

There was room for nothing else--no one else, except for Luna Aurora. I was knocked to the ground, shoved into the dirt just half a minute in. The taste of it filled my mouth, followed by a disgusting grainy texture that crunched beneath my teeth. The gentle scent of gardenias and rose petals filled my nose, and I met the not-so-gentle eyes of the Assassin. They were a deep, chocolate shade of brown that held rich undertones of caramel. Even though I lacked the fighting skills of your typical Luna, I still had the reflexes.

"Pull me up! Please!" But my grip was slipping and my shoulder felt like it was tearing from its socket. "Irene!" Alastair appeared above me, reaching down. "Let him go! Let go so I can pull you up!" "I can't!" My voice broke on a sob. The assassin's weight was too much. I could feel my fingers sliding slowly. "Please!" the assassin begged, his eyes wild. "Don't let me fall! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, just don't let me fall.”

If I didn't do something ,I would fail with my plan, because I knew he wouldn't be able to kill me . "Arrrrrrr" Naunet screamed, diverting our attention to her ,she was bleeding and trying to get the baby out by all means. Asim left me immediately to attend to her ,I took that as an opportunity to strike him down. I brought out my spear and aimed it at him ,it pierced into his back really deep , blood dripped out of his mouth , I gave a nice shot. "ASIM !!! … Naunet screamed seeing him fall to the ground, probably dead and out of my way ,but something else caught my attention.

I thought I could handle this on my own, thought I could bring Zephyr back without assistance because I’m her mate, but it's not enough. “Did you see the person? Did you see the assassin?” Avani snarls. I look at him, knowing this will hurt him nearly as much as it hurts me. “It’s Zephyr, Avani. She’s the assassin.” He falls back on his butt. “What? Are you sure?” he asks. I raise an eyebrow at him. “Why would she do this? Why would she kill these shifters?” Cedric asks. “They got to her,” Avani says as realization dawns on him and he looks at me. He and I have worked together long enough. We understand each other without words.

He bit his bottom lip, lowering his arms to his sides and glancing towards his palms before asking, "What is it? Y-You...you don't like what you see?" Nate had not spoken yet, gulping when he saw Dante's fingers drop the knife beside him and reach for the next button on his dress shirt. When Nate realized what he was doing, he instinctively leaned downwards, his mind completely pushing away the assassin murderous rumours and all the threats Dante had mentioned, instead reaching for his hands and stopping him from continuing down the placket. "What the fuck are you doing?" Nate pushed his hands away, closing the other buttons as well and hiding the chain back into his shirt.
