The man who once lived for my breath was now the predator stalking it, his every movement a jagged, lethal promise of my end. We were on the open observation deck of the Spire’s flagship, suspended thousands of feet above the burning Iron Shore. The wind howled around us, tearing at my silk gown and the Sovereign tactical gear that now encased his body. Dante moved with a sickening, mechanical grace, his obsidian arm glowing a sterile, blinding white. He was "Assassin 01," a ghost with no name and no mercy.

She places the call on speakerphone and we all wait when the click signals whoever it is has answered. “Hello Teagan, how can I help you?” My eyes go wide and I feel excited. I look at momma and she winks at me with a shit-eating grin on her face. “Hello Alessa. I need you help.” She says and I become giddy. The Mother’s Revenge are assassins and helped us get Rebel back. When Alina chuckles. “She means my little helpers.” We all look at Alina and Cass, and her team chuckle. Little helpers? Ghost is a woman and was high up in the ranks of the Bratva. Not much is known about her, just that she is one of Alina’s best. Then one day she hung up her guns.

I may not be able to take back what was done to her, but I could at least make those men pay. Took a little time, but I managed to find every single one and give them the deaths they so greatly deserved. The only one left was Zephyr. The one who started it all. His death will act as a warning to every man in this room, and maybe, just maybe, it will stop it from happening again. And if it doesn’t, then let them know I’ll be coming for them. They may all know me as Dasha Hatzis, daughter of Mihalis Hatzis; right-hand man of the of the most powerful mafia family in all of Greece. I thought I could handle this on my own, thought I could bring Zephyr back without assistance because I’m her mate, but it's not enough. “Did you see the person? He can't even bear the thought of killing someone. "Aren't you a badlander? A badlander and death are always mentioned in the same sentence." "Are you not?" Alessia huffed. "I am from Caelum. I do not associate myself with dirty bastards from the Badlands as much as possible." A human? What is one doing this far away from Caelum? "I'm surprised you're still alive, honestly." Some powerful people wish me ill, and you might be in danger of simply being with me. I’ll protect you, but I need you to know this because I don’t want you coming in blind. A hidden panel slid wider with a whisper of movement. A figure stepped through. All black...Face masked. The assassin. Elara stumbled back, breath tearing from her lungs. “You’re not supposed to be here,” she whispered. The assassin tilted his head. Familiar...Wrong. He moved fast. Elara dodged as a blade slashed where her throat had been. She fell hard, pain flaring in her side. Stone bit into her palms as she scrambled backward. The assassin advanced silently. “You can’t kill me,” she said, desperate. “They’ll tear this place apart.”
