The girl smiled and left without making a sound. — What did you call the girl?! Diana asked, intrigued. — "Ah". Most servant girls or maids are called "'Ah". It's kind of a title. In Cantonese there is no word for this, the closest term is " Gung-yan " but they find it offensive. "Ah" is a kinder way of referring to them.
