Trouble with the Devil

Trouble with the Devil

After searching through the shelves, I found the book I had been waiting to read for ages but couldn’t. After last time’s incident when I fell off the ladder, I gave up reading sitting on it. Instead, I sat down on the floor. With my legs crossed, I put on my AirPods and started reading. I was halfway through the eighth chapter when I caught someone come in my direction from the corner of my eyes. I didn’t react and continued reading. Maybe that person was here to pick a book? “The Goblin and the Grim Reaper? Amazing taste.” Came a voice. Because of the low volume of the music, I could hear what the other person was saying.

This book is a wonderful blend of drama , love and reality . I'd say this book is perfect for anyone who is questioning his/her life choices in terms of a relationship and is also a casual reading pleasure. Would rate the book a sweet 10/10 .

What a great book - well written with minimal errors. So many emotions. Lots of twists and turns. It was hard to put the book down because the storyline was captivating. Love the ending. Definitely worth reading.

His Runaway Angel

His Runaway Angel

Her younger sister connected her phone to the tiny Bluetooth speaker her mother gifted her last year, and the voices of characters from her favourite audiobook echoed in the room. Hana chuckled. Cara frowned. Hana was the first one to react, she reached for her younger sister’s hand, and her head lowered to Cara’s shoulder. They stayed in their bubble, listening to the audiobook and the calm voice of the narrator telling them about characters that didn’t exist, characters with a better life. And for a little while, Hana was able to pretend everything was fine.

The Outsider's Vows

The Outsider's Vows

His hands trembled as he dialed a number and made an international call. "Where's the girl?" he asked. "Are you talking about the girl you had kidnapped and shipped off abroad?" The familiar voice sneered from the other end of the call. "Alex?" "Surprise surprise." "What are you doing with this phone?" David began to panic. "I told you you are a fool, didn't I? Well, I hope you are ready. It is going to be a long ride, and as always, I'll be right here, watching you get kicked out of Phoenix and enjoying your downfall. Ciao," Alex said and ended the call.

Outracing Demons (The Streets Series)

Outracing Demons (The Streets Series)

He’d been stable for the last three months, maybe even four, so I was sure something had gone wrong. But nothing she said sounded remotely suspicious. He came back to the shelter toward the end of the day around six o’clock. It sounded like he was fine at that point. He came inside and checked in with Heather before heading to his bed where he grabbed his book. Some of the other kids sat in the room with him but minded their own business while he read. I knew the book he’d been reading was To Kill a Mockingbird. I’d suggested it to him when he finished his last one by Agatha Christie, And Then There Were None. Reading helped him sort through his feelings and it also gave him fresh perspectiv

A Love That Shouldn't Be

A Love That Shouldn't Be

It was a face that held the promise of a future yet to be unraveled. Magnus was gone for the day with the elders, and Orla was at the community building, so I had the house to myself. We were not allowed books of fiction in our communal library. I scanned the leather spines and pulled one off the shelf, The Picture of Dorian Gray by an author Oscar Wilde. I settled into my Father's oversized leather chair and opened the book on his desk. As I delve into the pages, I find myself captivated by a foreign world. The characters' complexities and struggles resonate deeply, reflecting parts of my inner thoughts and emotions.

The Stranger In My House

The Stranger In My House

When the sun the up? Oh, well. I throw my phone carefully on the blue pillow on the bed. I haven’t read in a bit, so I take one of my favorite books. Though I have read it numerous times, it’s an epic book. I run my finger on the letters on the cover page of the book. The letters reads: THE OUTSIDERS. I sigh satisfyingly and begin my book. In a minute, I’m already lost in the world of ‘Ponyboy Curtis’, the book’s narrator.

REBIRTH: This time I will be a Witch!

REBIRTH: This time I will be a Witch!

"Ohh... hmmm. I-I w- was just... I was just... I was just having a hard time understanding something that I have read from the book. I was busy pondering over it, that is why I was in a daze." Audrey tried her best not to stutter as she gave her friends an on the spot lie with a straight face. "Errr... I think you would really have a hard time understanding something if you would read a book that way." Niccoli said to Audrey as he looked at the book that she was holding. The others also looked at the book in Audrey's hand and it was only at that time did they noticed what was wrong with the book. "MEOW" [You are reading the book upside down, little lass.]

An Outsider in My Own Family

An Outsider in My Own Family

I would be a fool to let them take my money to support someone else. … When I returned home after meeting with the bank president, it was already 11:00 pm. The house was completely dark, and no one bothered to check on me even when I came back so late. They were all fast asleep. I stumbled in the dark while heading back to my room. As soon as I opened the door and tossed my handbag onto the chair, I heard a piercing scream. Surprised, I hurriedly turned on the lights. I then saw Madeline crouched by the cabinet where I stored my jewelry and watches, her arms thrown up to protect her head. She was wearing my jewelry around her neck, ears, and wrists.

Whispers of Sikar

Adea said to herself, “and much bigger.” “It’s a prominent part of their cultures,” the short elderly woman standing inside the kiosk responded. “I have read all of these many times. Fascinating tales! If you’re looking to learn more about Outsider culture, might I recommend novels such as this one?” She reached over the stacks with a scraggy hand and picked up a plain-covered book, handing it to Adea.

MY STEP SISTER'S MARRIAGE: I AM HER SUBSTITUTE

MY STEP SISTER'S MARRIAGE: I AM HER SUBSTITUTE

Bells jingled, and a young woman behind the counter gave me a nod before turning back to her book. I didn’t know what I was looking for. Maybe something to help me understand Aaron. Maybe a way to find a language I’d never learned—one that didn’t involve boardrooms, silence, or avoidance. In the children’s section, I ran my hand along the spines until one caught my eye. A story about a fox who had no name. Who wandered from home to home trying to remember where he belonged. Too on the nose? Probably but I bought it anyway. Back in the car, I stared at the cover for a long time. I didn’t even open it. Just held it.
