The Outcasts

The Outcasts

He laughed, the sound making my insides feel a tad weird but in a way it felt nice. "I was clearly busy at the time," I began, my hand indicating my room and the apartment before us. "So there was no time to ask questions on whether anyone resided here, spirit wise that is." I gave a small grin. "Plus I didn't know what to say." "Based upon my observation you," Jem said with a light chuckle. "Cora," he said, brushing his fingers across my cheek. His touch was cool and still semi-solid. "Didn't you have any loyal friends to rely on growing up?" I shook my head to tell him no because in some way I always remained the outcast of anyone that I befriended. A loner who believed that trusting other

Night of shades

Night of shades

The bottled blonde pointed her finger at him. “You’re an outsider,” she intoned. “You don’t belong here.” The term was repeated over and over by every voice. It rolled through like dominoes falling. “Outsider, outsider, outsider.” Alex couldn’t see over the crowd. Anyone who came within its orbit seemed to be pulled into its gravity, and nobody was protesting. Nobody was going to help him.

THE PRICE OF WENDY

THE PRICE OF WENDY

An Outsider was a totally disgusting and abhorrent parasitic life-form. Just by touch alone an Outsider can infect a human host, it then ensures the continuous survival of its own kind. It’s a parasitic like Alien species. Within the confines of the Multi-facet room Willy Goodwill tracked the rate of the Outsider infection with the help of the Artificially Intelligent operating system Andy. A 3-D image of the statistics appeared: About 500 thousand people have already been infected. “My God the infection is doubling by the minute!” Exclaimed Willy in panic.

and then he turned to go. “What do you mean…outsider, kela? You think I’m an outsider?” Now, I stopped him. Outsiders, I knew, were not good for us. They came from Bangladesh or some other places and were snatching our land, our jobs, destroying our culture…everything. I knew that. But I, how was I an outsider? I was born here. I was brought up here. My father, mother and my entire clan lived here for ages.

Winner Takes All

Winner Takes All

I mean, if I can say it… I'm not even comparable to someone like you, who was branded as an outsider. Austin frowned upon the mention of "outsider". He had gotten used to being insulted this way ever since he was a child. But somehow, hearing it coming out of Fiona's mouth had definitely made him uncomfortable. Fiona seemed as if she never noticed Austin's change of mood and just continued muttering to herself. "I just want to be a popular actress, that's all. It's a pretty good feeling to be famous, you know? Actually, rumors about you within the house always paint you in a bad light, saying that you're not worthy or the like. But after meeting you, I'm start

Alpha Blake's Broken Luna

Alpha Blake's Broken Luna

I can watch their dominant side that way. “Your pack turned on you,” I observe in the tone of a man noting the weather. “My pack turned on her,” he snaps. “They’ll regret it, she will regret it. Him most of all.” “Xander,” I say, tasting the name. I watched him take the circle and return it unbroken to Rose’s hands. It was untidy where I prefer elegance. Unfortunately, the world often rewards insistence over beauty. “He is inconvenient to you.” “He’s an outsider,” Calder says, as if the word means rot. “He’ll leave. Outsiders always leave.”

I whispered. He paused for a while and turned to me, shaking his head. I turned to him, confused by his reaction. “What?” I muttered when he didn’t say anything for a while. “They’re not looking at me. They’re used to my presence. They’re all looking at you.” I froze, but quickly recovered my composure. My frown deepened. “That’s ridiculous. Why would they be staring at me?” “You’re an outsider,” he said. “But don’t worry,” he quickly added, probably noting my discomfort, “they’re not going to touch you with me around. These guys might be comfortable with me, but I am quite respected in this place.”

Sidney
Unique story line, well written and very intriguing. Far better than a lot of other stories on here. I love a strong heroine, I love her even more considering she has managed to become a person who note only can stand up for herself and others but also isn’t afraid to accept help.

Does anyone know if this story has a reverse harem? I’m not into that and it doesn’t have the tag in the description but it’s so many guys pinning for her attention that I would y be surprised if it goes that route later. I’m assuming the story isn’t far along enough for anyone to know tho

The Mark You Hide

The Mark You Hide

“Silas is a complicated matter. Pack politics often appear hostile to outsiders.” “Outsider,” I repeated. “Is that the polite word today?” “It is the accurate one,” Maren said. I looked at her. “Funny, because every time somebody touches me, my body acts like it belongs to your world. Silver burns me. Your healer looks at me like I’m a bad diagnosis. Your Alpha’s blood did something none of you want to explain. So which is it? Outsider, or inconvenient evidence?” For a moment, no one spoke.

Exposing the Impostor

Exposing the Impostor

A driver stepped out and opened the door. From the back seat emerged a man who exuded an air of sophistication and power. Dressed in a custom-tailored black suit, he instantly commanded the attention of every woman present. Haley frowned at the figure with a puzzled expression. "Who's that? What a grand entrance!" If she had looked closely, she would have noticed Joel standing rigidly beside her. His face was drained of color. "Mr. Siegel… You're here…" Joel's legs wobbled as he forced himself to approach Thomas.

OFFSIDE

OFFSIDE

Jaxon thought about that. He told Callum about a movie he'd watched three times his freshman year, a quiet film about a man driving across the American southwest after something had ended, nothing dramatic happening in it, just the road and the landscape and the particular quality of someone in between one version of their life and whatever came next. He'd watched it alone in his apartment three times because something in it had reached a feeling he hadn't had language for at eighteen, which was the feeling of being in a life that had been arranged for him and not quite knowing where in it he was actually living.
