she introduced herself gracefully. Anthony did not react, but Anne greeted her. "Hello." Even without the introduction, Anne knew about Meredith. She had heard rumors about her on the internet and Anne had learnt that she was a member of the elite society, but had not expected to see Meredith here. "This is my granddaughter as well. Her name is Bianca," Cory continued. "I know her. The piano goddess. I've heard your performance before. It's beautiful," Meredith said. "Thank you," Bianca said.

He takes her hand and leads her to the bench then returns to her seat next to Anthony. Melody stretches her fingers and takes two deep breaths. The sound that begins to fill the room catches all their attention. The notes become part of her, they flow easily as if they are leaving her body through her hands. At the end of her song, she stood up from the bench to the sound of applause. Not one person was seated.

Annabelle had already discussed the piece with Seamus before performing. It was a famous French love song, with a lively melody perfect for the New Year. Seamus could sing it, and Annabelle could play it on the instrument. They instantly hit it off. At this moment, Annabelle wore a dress, a graceful outfit that complemented her gentle demeanor. Yet, she played a lively foreign song, blending Eastern and Western styles. Rather than clashing, the fusion gave an impression of artistic talent, as though she could master any instrument and any genre with her long fingers.

Still, there was something about Leo that made him seem like a womanizer. “Look, your cousin. I think she’s done singing.” I turned toward Anne. That’s what I call her, she doesn’t like being called Ate. She’s twenty-five and almost done with college. I had no idea she performed in places like this. She was smiling as she walked toward us, but suddenly, a man blocked her path. I couldn’t see his face, and Anne was small, so she disappeared behind him. At first, I thought it was nothing but then he tried to touch her.

She just cradled him gently into her arms and hummed a melody that calmed Angel down. “What are you humming?” Angel asked because the melody was making him at ease while being in Mira’s arms. “I’m Your Angel by Celine Dion and R.Kelly.” Mira answered while making a soothing motion on Angel’s back. “Sing it, please?” he requested in his pleading tone. Mira melted to that tone. “I don’t quite remember the entire lyrics.” She nodded but warned Angel since she was not familiar with the entire lyrics of the song. “Just a few will do.” he understood and Mira agreed on singing a few parts of the song.

Annabelle was listening to something with her ear buds, Mason was typing away on his phone, no doubt, as ploy to drown out Ashley's voice. I took one of Annabelle's ear buds and put in my ear. She didn't budge or complain like most people would. The song playing wasn't one I was familiar with but it sounded nice. "What song is this?" I asked her when the song ended. "That's 'fire' by BTS. It's my favorite of all their songs", she replied, still looking at her phone. I had heard of those BTS boys but had never really paid attention to them. Maybe I'd check them out later.
