This book is dedicated to Bukade—my awesome friend who's helped me very very much in the creation of this book, and Favour Edem, too—my first love, for taking her time to explain stuffs about Werewolves, and Vamps, and Witches to me. The Little Mermaid popped out at me, as did The Emperor's New Clothes, but I thought maybe a story that people are foolish in public wouldn’t be the best choice. Then I looked around some more and picked up Floca’s Moonshot: The Flight of Apollo 11, Lewis’s The Wolf, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and Dahl’s Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and a few others. I paused at the Harry Potter series, but while the girls were old enough, being werewolves, for the story, I knew the sizes of the books would put them off. Next year, I thought. They’d have handled textbooks by then and wouldn’t be so rapidly opposed to books an inch thick or more.

“Miracle!“ One stern call from her mother brought her back to her senses. She groaned and grumpled a dragged fine before she swung her legs off the table. “So, what did you do today?“ She didn't bother to ask the principal because, from her shocked face, she knew she wasn't going to respond to her. Miracle sighed in boredom and then responded, "There is this little boy in my class calling himself Zach Junior.“ “MMh,” she nodded,” what's with him?“ “He kept on looking at me as if I were a piece of steak, mother. Erika couldn't answer what Lei said to the two of them, telling them the real story of the war that had killed Erika's parents. "My niece will help you get over what you're going through with your daddy before I help you awaken your powers. I hope that in time you'll accept who you really are. I know that won't be easy for you," Lei said, turning the book back to normal and handing it to Erika. Lei said that normal people couldn't read what was in the book because the book she gave him was not ordinary. "That book is only for deities except for my niece and I, so we can read it because we're not ordinary," Lei replied.

Swish. Had someone left a window open, it was coming from our small library, my favourite room in the whole house well it was really reading enclave fitted with a door. Maybe my father had finally managed to fix the grandfather clock that had been sitting in the room for as long as I can remember. I decided on see the library one last time before the slaughter continued. Perhaps I’d even keep my favourite book of poems, a reminder of where I’d come from and what had been done to me by the people I thought I could trust, by the people who said they loved me.

Emma, Dave, and I stood around as I flipped the first page. ’To my beloved Alana, my best friend, my wolf' My eyes widened as realization hit. The queen's name wasn't on the book because she was the one who had written it. Page after page spoke of her affection for Alana, her powers, her strength, and everything she had done for the queen. ”I’m not sure whether to think this is cute or creepy,” Dave said and winced. A vicious growl escaped me without my consent and the pages of the book flipped one by one quickly without anyone touching them.
