Desire (Wish, Book Two)
Leaning towards the water, I dip my fingers in and then rub them against the bottom half of the letter, the empty portion.
Shaking off the water droplets from my hand, I hold up the letter to the light and stare at it. For a moment, nothing happens.
And then-
Words begin to appear in white ink. Against the light, they’re easier to see, although a still a strain.
‘They’re coming again. They know. I’ve made arrangements. You’ll be safe, Taylor. I promise. They won’t get to you. Let them follow me. It’s going to be okay. Just wait. Expect the unexpected. Nothing is what it seems.’
