“Oh um, maybe if it was anyone else but Rif and Grace have been like brother and sister for years. I wasn’t as close to Rif, but I grew up with him too. There has been nothing romantic between them. Completely friendship.”

“She isn’t lying. He is like my brother.” I shrugged as Rif nodded.

“We fight like cats and dogs. I’ve never thought of her that way,” Rif said as lunch was being served. They put a variety of cold cut sandwiches on the table with different fruits, pastas and chips.

“Oh good! We aren’t late!” Callie came running up with Damon.

“Now that we are all here, let’s eat!” Alpha John said.

“How long is your flight?” I asked Rif.

“Three hours.” Rif swallowed his food. “Not bad, but I did order that doll for you.”

Grabbing a chip, I tossed it at him. “Kids!” Alpha James was trying not to laugh.

“He started it!” I said in my defense. I could feel Ethan’s gaze on me from across the table. I tried hard to ignore him.
