She closed her eyes for the briefest second before turning.

His hair was tied back loosely, and there were faint traces of dried paint at the edge of his cuff—a detail that made him both careless and utterly himself.
For a moment, neither of them spoke. The crowd swirled around them, conversations rising and falling, glasses clinking. Yet it felt as if the gallery had tilted, drawing them into the same orbit again
