Jaida Carlson, a 17-year old girl, realizes from a chance encounter with a young guy named Arius that things are certainly not fairly what they seem. Arius is anything but normal, right down to his retractable claws, black wings, and penetrating red eyes. In interchange of her life, they form an improbable closeness as she tries to help him intermingle into the human world when Jaida finds him lifeless on her school's roof.

“Would you have taught me, if I was able to listen to you before?” Azrael shook his head, “No. I was only to teach you the ways of knowing who you could help and which to avoid. It wasn’t my fault that you didn’t want to listen.” “I wasn’t strong before,” she stated with a faraway voice. “I don’t think Ava is either.” The figure had a flash of fire in his eye sockets. “Ava is special, June. She will protect this world!”

“But when you’re out with Laura, did you think about Jasper even once?” I opened my mouth and nothing came out. Just then, Ava rose onto her toes and sank her teeth into my chin. Pain shot through me. I hissed and tightened instinctively, but I did not shove her away. “You heartless, irresponsible monster!” she cried against me. “Give me back June!” The name cut deeper than the bite. I waited until her strength faded and she finally pulled back, breathing hard. Then I caught her jaw gently but firmly and forced a little distance between us.

After clean up. [IN THEIR ROOM] " Baby I'm downstairs, I need to watch ATLA " Crystal said buttoning up his chest . He looks up from his laptop " what's that" She sighs wondering if he lived under a rock " it's Avatar the last Airbender" Rylan grins " okay okay" She blows him a kiss and goes downstairs. Flopping on the couch, she switches the station and starts watching. After some minutes the doorbell rings " Is Rylan expecting any visitors" she mutters standing up and heads to the door.
