She loosened an exasperated breath, "No, that's very disrespectful. I don't even call the Big Man by his name. That's why I have the nickname for him since he hates being called Alpha." "Then give me a nickname," I suggested with a shrug. It seemed like the easiest solution to the problem. "Yes Saint, give your Luna a nickname." His voice. Fuck, his voice had goosebumps littering my skin. Victor's earthy scent encapsulated me, growing stronger with each heartbeat. I had stopped breathing. How did my lungs work again?

He cleared his throat softly and said, "I already have a wife and child." After that, Zeno waved his hand in the air, a sign that he wasn't receiving any more questions. Zeno got down from the podium and immediately shook hands with Zoro. This leadership is indeed in the hands of Zeno, but Zoro—the Elf Prince will take care of everything. Zeno could not stand directly taking care of leadership, he still had many things to take care of, such as his flock and his wife and children.

“You will see and I hope you like it.” When we stop in front of a cabin, with guards patrolling outside, I can’t help but look at him again. “Get off the car and I will tell you,” he relents. I comply. He locks the car and comes to stand in front of me. His gaze softens when our eyes meet. “Kaizen is alive.” It feels as if my world tilts for a moment. There’s a white noise in my mind. I can only stare at Azriel for Goddess knows how long.

He didn’t look too bad except his choice of clothing was questionable. “Hi. I’m Ava and—“ “Your identification card??” He demands with a scowl on his face cutting me off. Rude much? I give it to him and he types in the code on his computer immediately printing, and handing both the schedule and the card back to me. He looks at me up and down, giving me a nasty look when he’s done. “Shut the door on your way out.” What the fuck? “Is something wrong here? I mean you don’t even know me.”

There hasn't been a rider born in half a century, and even before, there was only one that ruled Astoria. How could I destroy her now? Her being half human, and Astoria’s vow made this complicated. “Now what indeed.” I sighed out loud. The best thing I could do was keep her in sight and make sure she didn’t realize her powers. Snuff it out before she did. I had Max. He was the most knowledgeable in werewolf law. He could help me. “I want—what’s the thing's name—? “Jezebel.” “I want Jezebel to come live with me. She will stay under my clan, as my ward.”

Zac took a measured step back, his eyes trailing over Ava from head to toe, then slowly lifting back to her face. “Tinkerbell?” he murmured, voice low and husky. Ava’s breath hitched. Her eyes lifted against her will, and the moment her gaze collided with his, it felt as though every cell in her body caught fire. Her heart pounded wildly, the blood in her veins rushing with disbelief. What? Zachary Gonzalez was Aurora’s uncle? Her limbs went numb. Aurora’s little face wrinkled in confusion as she looked from Zac to Ava. “Zac, do you know her?” she asked, voice a timid whisper.

Caden said, his voice stronger than it had any right to be, “I’ll mark her. I’ll claim her as mine. And there’s nothing you can do to stop me.” His words were the final straw. The last thread tethering me to sanity snapped, and Zuko surged forward, taking control. My vision blurred, my body convulsing as fur sprouted from my skin. The growl that tore from my throat wasn’t human—it was pure, primal rage. “She is not yours to mark!” Zuko growled, his voice a guttural snarl that echoed through the room. Without hesitation, we lunged at Caden, claws extended, ready to end this once and for all.

I turned toward the dark, the white-gold fire in my eyes burning with a new, lethal promise. If Dante died in these tunnels, I wouldn't just destroy the Council. I would burn the entire world until there was nothing left but ash and Void. As Zora and Sora reach the entrance to the Mainframe, the "Shadow-Guard" steps out of the steam. It isn't a soldier or a robot. It is a man with silver hair and a clinical expression—Zora’s father, CEO Vane. But his eyes aren't the cowardly brown she remembers. They are a glowing, synthetic violet.
