Looking up at me from her upside-down position, Blanca's eyes met mine. I refrained from smiling amidst the pandemonium, but there was no denying that Blanca always managed to make life interesting. And then there was Peter. His eyes burned with the fire of someone ready to fight for what he believed was his, and he held my hand, ready to shield me from whatever backlash might come.
