A U T H O R N O T E I wanted to address the few comments I've received from people frustrated with me only posting a chapter at a time. When Rude Awakenings was signed three months ago, I had just given birth to my third child. I vastly underestimated how popular it would be, and thought I would have a lot more time to write a sequel. Seeing the overwhelming response for Book Two, I made the decision to post my chapters as I write them. Believe me when I say I completely understand how frustrating it is to wait for a chapter, especially when you are so engrossed in a story, but I wanted you all to know that every piece of spare time I have, is spent writing this book. “Nothing about this is normal.” Silence falls. Cane exhales slowly. “She’s closer than we thought,” he mutters. “Closer to what?” I snap. Gunnar’s eyes lock onto mine. “Awakening,” he says. The word sends a chill through me. “What does that even mean?” I whisper. “It means,” Caden says carefully, “that what you are has been sleeping for a long time.”
