Senna’s POV My eyes flew open. Someone was invading our space. The sounds of breathing was thick in the air. Bolting to an upright position, I reached for my bow. It was in my hands within seconds. “Wake up,” I hissed to Thor. He was supposed to be on watch, but he must have fallen asleep. He woke up immediately. Three people in front of us froze.

I whispered. I reached out for him as the wolves closed in on me, but before he could get to me, the nearest one turned and leapt. Its body hit the air— And I couldn’t tell where the shadows were coming from. Something pierced my heart, and I gasped. --- I woke up too fast, like something had pulled me out of darkness by force. For a few seconds I did not move. I lay still in the attic bed, staring at the wooden ceiling. My chest rose and fell unevenly, as if I had been running for a long time.

The Awakening Power The moon illuminated the sky as Lyra found herself solitary in the clearing, the cold air pressing against her. Her breaths came rapidly and shallowly, each exhale visible in the frigid night. A fresh wave of strength coursed through her, a sensation she struggled to describe. It felt as if every part of her was coming alive, as though her true self had been asleep for ages and was now finally awakening.

The haze, the daydream of what just happened, starts filtering out of my system wildly fast. “You always were… Now sit… the wolf in you is purging the drug. You turned and healed, so now it's fading. You have been unconscious for so long. I was so afraid you would never wake up."
