I ask cautiously.
Before she can respond, the door opens and a young woman in a formal uniform, resembling that of a legal representative, walks in.
"This is the dress you’ll be wearing," announces the supervisor. "Please be careful as we remove the one you’re currently wearing. Also, hand over the jewelry to Ekaterina—she’ll be responsible for keeping it safe. Don’t worry, there are others for you to wear tonight."
I’m confused. I don’t understand what’s happening, but I let the supervisor and Ekaterina help me change. The new dress is different—long-sleeved, elegant, and with a flowing silhouette. It’s refined and modest, without the extravagance of the first.
