“Show me what you got.”
I flick my light, brightening the room like a sunny day, and he laughs, shadows dancing with it. “This light’s for you,” I say, aiming a playful spark at him, and he catches it with his shadows, grinning wide.
“Burns bright—like us,” he says, pulling me close, kissing me soft, then deep, our bond humming like a storm. “Keep going, sunshine.”
“Okay,” I say, laughing, light flaring as I try healing a cut on his hand from the echo fight. “This like when we beat the echo?”
