Baking With Amy Novels & Stories

Ivy sprung from the bed and opened the door, pulling Amy inside. "Okay, I didn't think you'd be so excited about cake.." "Forget the cake. Tell me about the crimson moon." Ivy replied, her voice sounding more high pitched that it usually did. "Ouch. Sorry cake." Amy said, placing the pastry on the side stool. Her mother ran a bakery, the best in black heart territory. And after bragging about how good her mother's cakes were, ivy had asked her to get one on her way to the pack house.

Ricky turned around to see her following power rangers intro into their morphing stage. "She is supposed to cook...we had a bet on that," Rachel, Ricky and Ben looked at Amy. "Uhm no…" "Definitely not…" "Bitch isn't gonna even know where the pots are?" Ricky shook his head, looking at her dozing off. "When did she even get baked?" Ricky asked. She never really thought about it until now, they had been together and she was fine till she was not, and she doesn't even remember her smoking. "I got some weed brownies and ate some, and chewed some," Amy said, suddenly standing up.

The scent of cinnamon and toasted oats wafted into the hallway before we even reached the doors. Amy was already there, apron on and hair pulled into a high bun, moving with sharp, efficient grace between the prep table and a line of brown paper bags. “Morning,” I greeted softly, stepping in beside her. “You’re late,” she teased, not even glancing up. “By five minutes.” I snorted, bumping her shoulder with mine as I joined her at the assembly line. “I was letting the Headmaster put socks on without falling over. You’re welcome.”

“Guilty as charged. But, in my defense, these brownies will be worth it.” “Brownies?” Hannah asked, trying not to laugh as she stepped closer. “You bake now?” “I’m learning,” he said proudly. “YouTube is an amazing teacher. Though, apparently, I skipped the part about ‘don’t use twice the flour.’” “Clearly,” she said, arching a brow as she surveyed the chaos. Amelia climbed onto a stool, her excitement barely contained. “Can I help?” “Absolutely not,” Hannah cut in, but Elijah was already nodding enthusiastically.

I sighed, “I understand.” We went to the dining room table as soon as we got to the apartment and sat down. Amy served French toast with sausage and a small bowl of fruit salad on the side. I smiled, “You put extra cinnamon in the batter; didn’t you?” She nodded, “Mmm just how I like it. You are awesome. Thank you.” She answered, “Can’t have you going on live TV on an empty stomach.” I nodded, “You know me so well.”

Grandma insisted. " yeah bro, maths sister is awesome in cooking " here is my brother, taking her side like before. I nodded and hummed in reply, but as soon as I tasted that bite... my god, I found my taste buds dancing in excitement, being a chef I am well acquainted with flavors and she has used amazing combination and ingredients and that too in perfect proportion, and if I'm guessing it right, this is whole wheat carrot cake.. How did she do it, that fluffiness and spongy texture, even my restaurant chefs are nothing in front of her, I must say..

“If not, I can tell the cab to wait a while...” “Erm… No need,” Audrey said and smiled brightly, as though her legs hadn’t turned to jelly. “Amy is just checking everything’s turned off in the kitchen. It’s a ritual she does every time she leaves the house, although, to my knowledge, she has never left anything on by mistake in the last thirty-odd years.” “There’s always a first time, sweetie,” Amy said, coming up behind her, looking plump and pretty in a demure below-the-knee blue cocktail dress.

When we returned inside, she excused herself to call her father. After my last class of the day, I met Amy at our spot on the roof. Tears came to my eyes again, along with a smile, when I saw she was holding a huge slice of red velvet cake in a plastic container. “My favorite!” I said. “It’s just what I need.” “I told Dad you were having a rough day and asked him to bring it from the restaurant.” I took a chunk of the cake and handed the rest to Amy. It was delicious. “Daisy, maybe you should stop trying to fit in with girls like Kayla,” Amy said and licked icing from her fingers. “You shouldn’t have to force yourself to do things that make you uncomfortable.”
