We talked for a few minutes about random things, and just when I thought the conversation was about to end, Byrain said something that made me pause.
“Can you step out to your balcony?”
I frowned a little. “Why?”
“Just do it,” he said, and I could hear the smile in his voice.
Curious, I pushed myself off the bed, walked to the balcony, and slowly opened the glass door.
The moment I stepped outside, my breath caught in my throat.
There he was.
Byrain.
Standing right at my balcony, his phone still pressed to his ear.
My heart skipped. “How did you even get here?” I asked, still through the phone, staring at him in disbelief.
