Her baby, her baby is alive..." and then Baron looked up at the ceiling and shouted, "No one hurts her. The baby is not dead. She’s alive!" Suddenly, as if he had seen something frightening, his pupils dilated and his face turned white as he trembled. “What are you talking about? Do you lose your mind? Lucy’s baby is dead!”

This is the help I mentioned.” Then he gestured towards the door. “Let her in.” Confused and suspicious, Sharon walked to the door and opened it. Dr. Wanni stood in the hallway.

Baron asked, glancing briefly in my direction before looking back at his laptop screen. He must have forgotten how I inveigled a date with Dr. Chloe Burns this morning. He looked engrossed on his computer screen. Damian did not say anything. He was still engrossed with the paperwork. Baron was busy with his laptop. I am sure he was checking out his financial investments and stocks. “I am going out to fetch my date.” This time, Damian looked up. “You are going out dressed like that?” He looked meaningfully at my casual shirt, jeans, and white sneakers with his brows raised.

No one answered and there was no sound apart from the unending noise of The Unbidden Army down below. “Is there anyone coward enough to choose the losing side and walk away from me?!” he boomed, looming closer to them. Gia and Cynthia were right behind the masters of the Vrek Cult on the second row but they got the urge to cower away as The Baron advanced. “I am the greatest! I am most victorious! I will win this war and prove that destiny can never be denied even when it is stolen!” he bellowed. Gia held her breath. What was The Baron talking about?
