Just then, Ryk and another patrolman entered the room. The patrolman was holding a large hammer, and Edgar's eyes grew wide as he saw it.

Inspector Santos glared at Devin for interrupting and she said, “continue, Ms. Green.” Rolling my eyes, I ignored her glare at my actions. “It was Camilla Smith.” I repeated, “she swayed her bat, like Harley Quinn, and she hit me too many times until I lost consciousness. POV: Kael “Report,” I demanded and my voice was low but hard as the last Beta staggered into the interrogation room where the air smelled of sweat and fear and the tension was thick enough to taste on my tongue. The junior Beta who had been tasked with questioning the traitor stammered as he spoke. “He will not speak and even under the scent mark and even with the weight of what he has done pressing against him he refuses to tell us who else was involved.”
