The Nightmare Master was definitely not satisfied, but I don't know what to tell him. I was about halfway finished stitching this man's arm on when I felt the night my master give me back control.

Chapter 35 - Desperate The last few days felt like months as worry ate away at me. I didn’t sleep often, but I woke up covered in sweat and gasping for air when I did manage to pass out. Other twisted nightmares would come into play each time I passed back out. Ones where Balthazar was dead, and I was too late to help him. Others where, Jade never came, and the giants found us instead. One nightmare would morph into the next. It would go from him to me being alone cornered by Luecrottas beast. I was being eaten alive while my screams went unheard. They swirled around each other, going back and forth.

Gid, I knocked several times—-Ow," he said as he noticed the woman lying on the bed. "Nah, Uncle, I don't even know who she is, believe me," Gideon says, scratching his brow. Sam took a big breath, saying, "Never mind, go fix this and I'll come back to you later." and exited the room. Gideon nodded and looked at the woman. He walked into the bathroom and stared at himself in the mirror, wondering how long he could distract himself from a nightmare he would never forget for the rest of his life. He returned his attention to his body, the scratch on his chest that would never fade.

Valerie said as she shuddered. "Yeah. Well, let me get back out there while these are cooking. Don't worry, Val, I'll be careful if that guy comes back in here." "Alright, girl. I'll talk to you later." Tabitha wasn’t going to tell Valerie about the dreams involving Mark. Those were the real nightmares. They had evolved from just him raping her after being with the man she couldn’t see. There were several where he forced himself on her. She shuddered as she thought about those. She walked to the oval mirror in the corridor and traced her fingers on the purplish-green bruises on her neck. Brianna dug her nails deep into the bruise, refreshing the wound. Dark blood dripped down her neck, and patches by patches dropped on the white marble floor forming a small pool of blood. "You want this, Satan. I only had a good face, and now you have destroyed it. Marriage? It was a beautiful dream, which now has turned into a nightmare. Satan, you are my worst nightmare." Brianna imprinted her trembling hand on Satan's picture, leaving a bloody mark on the frame.

Despite the worry on her mind and the uncomfortableness of the cot, eventually, Jo did fall asleep. She knew she was dreaming when she found herself standing in an odd black tunnel. The walls, floor, and ceiling seemed to be made entirely of ash, but it was hard beneath her feet, like stone.
