Gasher took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. The sounds of snoring, grunts, and scratching echoed throughout the cave. The snoring varied from soft, almost melodic snores to loud, guttural ones that rattled the cave walls. Grunts and groans came from those who were not completely asleep, as they shifted and turned in their sleep. The occasional scratching sound came from those with fleas or other pests, trying to get relief from the itchiness.
