The bone knife in Caleb’s hand shattered, the pieces didn’t fall, they turned to dust and were sucked into the still pool. Caleb screamed, clutching his hand as if burned. The cavern rumbled. I pray that I don't get mauled by a beast again. But the prayers don't work because I can hear the howling of beasts in the vicinity. I scream in fright, but it's as if I can't produce enough voice.
