Esma’s pov The three yellow river beasts. That’s what they call themselves. They were famous as the notorious bandits or thugs of the slab city. Rumour has it that they don’t just attack people, rather they kills all men, kidnap women and rape them as well. They are really evil. So much so that the local authorities put bounties on their heads yet they roamed the city fearlessly and freely. One of them called himself Baal. The eldest son of the three beasts. Famous for his volatile and short temper but care a lot about his siblings and family.

The tyronimic howled loudly into the dark, atmosphere - which only attracted the attention of beasts of other species that ululated, wailed and yowled their response in return, making the atmosphere more mysterious and unearthly. The tyronimic turned its four ugly heads slowly left and right, scanning the cheerless horizon but seeing other creatures - Yellow, glowing eyed Yalipers, Yaghions with detachable body parts and other strange creatures. They were not of interest so the tyronimic didn't turn as much as a horn to them as it searched desperately for where its preys had gone all of a sudden.

The pack members scattered, their faces etched with fear, their eyes wide with horror. In the center of the clearing, a monstrous figure loomed, its dark form shifting and growing. Moonlight cast an eerie glow on the creature, revealing its thick black fur, its piercing yellow eyes, and its gnashing teeth. It was Draven, mid-transformation, his human form battling the wolf within.

A blur of fur and claws. I barely had time to react before Lloyd shoved me out of the way, and Beck’s dagger flashed, slashing at the creature’s arm. It wasn’t a wolf. It wasn’t a vampire. It was… something else. It was twisted and hunched, with skin like bark and eyes that glowed a sickly yellow.

"There's a thing watching me. Stalking me. It's a giant beast thing, but now that I've seen you—maybe it's a wolf. It's not brown, though. It's black, really dark. It has yellow eyes. Each drop sends ripples of dread coursing through her veins as if the darkness itself whispers its threats in response to her fear. From the shadows, the monster finally reveals itself—a twisted creature born from nightmares, part wolf and part shadow, with glowing yellow eyes that pierce through the gloom. It circles her, the sinewy muscles rippling beneath its darkened fur, giving life to the terrifying grace of its movements. As it prowls, something within her stirs—a whisper of recognition, an echo of the pack's curse that coils around her heart like the tendrils binding her.

"These texts hold the key to unlocking the truth. We must study them diligently." Luna, her curiosity piqued, picked up a worn leather-bound book. "Look at this, it speaks of the Black Beast—a creature of immense power that was said to be capable of harnessing the corruption itself. Could this be the source of the darkness we face?" Hyperion nodded, his expression grave. "The Black Beast is a legend rooted in our ancient history.
