My oldest sister, Stephanie, died this morning. Pack and religious tradition dictates that we must hold funerals within 24 hours of death. Because Stephanie died shortly after midnight, her funeral must be held today. All food and décor set aside for my birthday party was therefore immediately diverted for the funeral; thankfully my fall themed colors were sufficiently somber-ish to work. All decorations that seemed relatively “happy,” celebratory, or that mention me have been removed. Pictures of Stephanie have now been placed on tables and podiums, and the music I selected has been swapped out for songs about loss or Stephanie’s favorites.

Celeste, who was on the other end of the phone, interrupted her. "Daughter?" Celeste began to cry. "Mom, what's wrong with you? Why are you crying?" "Daughter..." At last, I have longed to be free from such a monster and I've finally grasped it. I stayed and talked to a few more people but everyone just wanted this drama to be over. We wanted him to go to where he belonged so we started heading to the cemetery. He was the only relative she had, while Marcus had none, especially that she had no idea where Frank was. Within two hours, Uncle Luke was at the mansion, comforting Nera, who was dressed in black, with her two children. She had already informed them of their situation, even though they did not understand. She had gone for the cremation to avoid the casket, as there were not a lot of people they knew. As they take their seats, Karma's gaze falls upon the two coffins, adorned with white roses and surrounded by candles. Her heart aches, and she feels the weight of her loss like a crushing burden. Karma slowly walks up to her mom's casket, she removes a single white rose from the Casket spray, and returns to her seat, smelling the flower. and the eulogies flow like a river, each one a testament to the love and impact of Karma's parents. Tears stream down faces, and sobs echo through the silence.
